Who will be replacing Governor Jay Nixon?

That’s the question on everyone’s mind as Summer steadily heads towards Fall.

Before we can answer that question, we need to determine who the two nominees will be.

Both parties are engaged in very active primaries, to determine who the nominee will be coming out of the August 2 Primary.

Of course, virtually all of the serious candidates are doing their best to assure you that they are 100% pro-gun.

Then again, we’ve heard this all before, haven’t we?

Governor Nixon talked a good talk when he ran for office the last two times, doing his best to convince gun owners in Missouri that he would “have their back” if elected or re-elected.

Of course, we all know how that worked out as just last month Nixon, carrying water for NYC billionaire Michael Bloomberg, vetoed SB 656 which would have made Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground law here in Missouri.

As we’ve told you, that fight is far from over as the legislature will have the opportunity to override this failed decision later this Fall. More on that later.

In the meantime, it’s vital that you and I do everything we can to make sure that whoever replaces Jay Nixon pledge 100% support for our right to keep and bear arms.

No, I’m not talking about hearing them talk a good talk at a press conference, release a video of themselves shooting a gun, or putting a throw-away paragraph up on their website that says they believe in the 2nd Amendment.

Talk is cheap.

We just saw what happened when our Governor, who claimed to be pro-gun when seeking our votes, got into office and was then presented with a gun bill to sign into law or veto.

We need more than just talking points.

That’s exactly why the Missouri Firearms Coalition has recently sent our detailed candidate survey to every candidate running in the gubernatorial primary – on both the Republican and Democratic ticket!

We’re asking them the detailed 2nd Amendment questions that gun owners need answers to, so that we can have all the information we need as we approach the ballot box next month.

You can play a serious role in making sure that we figure out where these candidates stand — more on that below!

Understand this, if a candidate won’t put their views on paper and sign our simple candidate survey, then you and I should be very concerned about that candidate’s willingness to fight to defend our gun rights if elected Governor.

Regardless of their party, if they won’t put those views in writing via a candidate survey, then these candidates could simply be Missouri’s next Jay Nixon – a desperate politician who says one thing at election time and another once safely in office.

These surveys are out and should be arriving at the campaign headquarters of all of the candidates as you read this.

That’s why I need your immediate help!

The campaign consultants with the moderate candidates will try to keep their candidates from completing this simple 8 question survey — in an attempt to keep you and I from holding them accountable.

They’ll tell the candidate that “this isn’t a big deal, you don’t have to bother with this.”

Please help us crank up the heat on the candidates running to replace Jay Nixon by calling their campaign headquarters at the numbers listed below and insisting that they sign the Missouri Firearms Coalition candidate survey with 100% pro-gun replies!

Make sure they know that you’re watching to see who will stand up for the 2nd Amendment, and who’s just using the issue as a campaign talking point as we’ve seen many times in the past here in Missouri.

Remind them that how the candidates respond to this survey will tell you all you need to know when deciding who to support as we approach the August 2 primary!

Tell them that you’re not interested in hearing their 2nd Amendment platform, or about their statements to the press on the 2nd Amendment, or on their membership in any gun rights organization, or anything else!

Remind them that you want to see their signed survey – period!

When you’re done, please forward this email to all of your friends and family and make sure they contact these candidates as well.

This day in age, it’s not enough for a candidate to say “umm, yeah, I’m pro-gun.”

We need legislators and a Governor who will FIGHT for our gun rights.

Michael Bloomberg has placed a target on Missouri.

President Obama is constantly attacking Missouri, by name, because we prize our 2nd Amendment freedoms.

We need a Governor who will stand up to these attacks and lead the charge to strengthen the 2nd Amendment – and that starts with them not being afraid to answer our simple 8 question survey.
