Questions:

Question 1
While dozens of states give the presumption of innocence to gun owners in the wake of a threatened or actual use of force (requiring the state to prove their guilt in court), Missouri law inverts that and requires gun owners to prove their innocence in court. Further, many states allow gun owners to assert this ‘presumption of innocence’ in a pre-trial immunity hearing. These hearings give gun owners the chance to be spared the agony of a criminal trial. And in an era when liberal prosecutors are targeting gun owners to advance a political agenda as we saw with Kyle Rittenhouse and Mark McCloskey, it’s more important than ever that we have a pre-trial hearing process to dismiss these bogus charges.  If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like SB-771/HB-2559 that would enhance Missouri’s self-defense laws by providing the presumption of innocence to gun owners who are forced to defend themselves, as well as a pre-trial hearing process to spare them from going through politically motivated prosecutions?

Question 2
Anti-gun politicians in Jeff City continue to introduce legislation like SB-891/HB-1876, which would institute ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ here in Missouri. These laws allow virtually anyone to petition a court and make the claim that a person is a ‘danger to themselves or others’ while providing little to no evidence. Once filed, ‘Red Flag’ allegations allow a liberal judge to strip a law-abiding gun owner of his firearms before he has been arrested, indicted, or convicted of a crime. Often, this is done through ex-parte hearings that the gun owner is not allowed to know about until after the seizure order has been issued. Other GOP-controlled states are banning ‘Red Flag’ laws, requiring a felony criminal conviction before someone’s firearms can be confiscated.   If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like SB-1004/HB-1651 that would ban ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws, knowing that these laws allow gun owners to be disarmed before they have ever been arrested, let alone convicted, of a crime?

Question 3
Most mass shootings happen in so-called ‘Gun-Free Zones’ where law-abiding citizens are forced to disarm. Thousands of Americans have been shot or murdered by violent criminals in these zones over the last fifteen years, because law-abiding citizens were unable to defend themselves or their loved ones, due to a deadly law that forced them to disarm. If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation that eliminates government-mandated ‘Gun Free Zones,’ that leave law abiding citizens helpless against violent killers looking to rack up a body count?

Question 4
Missouri’s preemption law (572.100) prevents political subdivisions or agencies from enacting gun control laws. Without this, every city and county in the state could have their own guns laws and ensnare well-meaning gun owners with bogus charges for simply driving through these locations. Despite that, St. Louis and Kansas City are in the process of openly violating 572.100 because the law currently has no penalty provision. If this is not stopped, every liberal city and county in the state will follow suit. If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation that puts civil penalties into Missouri’s preemption law, allowing gun owners to hold political subdivisions that knowingly violate 572.100 accountable with civil lawsuits?

Question 5
Over the last four years, an estimated 7,500,000 million people have illegally entered America. The Dept. of Homeland Security said that at least 70,000 of these were ‘special interest’ aliens, coming from countries that ‘promote or protect terrorism’ against the United States. Now, some are trying to use the Bruen decision to justify letting these foreign nationals possess firearms. The Missouri Constitution makes it clear that only citizens of Missouri may possess a firearm in our state. If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation that would codify the Missouri constitution into state law, making it clear that foreign nationals who have entered America illegally are not allowed to possess a firearm, knowing that they’ll be able to legally buy a firearm once they’ve completed the process for entry?

Question 6
Anti-gun organizations, often funded with out-of-state resources from Michael Bloomberg, have been pushing legislation like HB-2857 for years. If passed, this would criminalize the private ownership of firearms by requiring Missourians to give the State of Missouri a list of every firearm they own! This legislation does virtually nothing to stop crime but does create a database of gun owners, making it possible for the government to attempt firearms confiscation down the road. If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on ‘Universal Gun Registration’ (or similar legislation) that would ban private party gun sales and make criminals out of Missourians who lawfully transfer firearms unless they notify the government first?

Question 7
In the wake of recent high-profile murder sprees, anti-gun politicians here in Missouri, the media and Bloomberg-funded activists in Jeff City have filed legislation like SB-1100/HB-1685 which would ban the sale of AR-15s (and standard 30-round magazines) and hundreds of related firearms because of their cosmetic features. These firearms are wildly popular and are owned by tens of thousands of Missourians.   If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that bans the manufacture, sale or possession of semi-automatic firearms and their standard capacity magazines – knowing that these restrictions don’t stop crime, but are used to harass gun owners?

Question 8
Various state legislatures have already passed legislation that would make it a felony for Americans between the age of 18-20 to own firearms! And there are politicians here in Missouri who want to do the same thing, even though federal courts have held this to be unconstitutional. To be clear, these are law abiding citizens that can exercise their right to vote, serve in the military, pay taxes, get married, have careers, and enjoy every other aspect of being a legal adult. If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that would make it a crime for Missourians between the ages of 18-20 to buy and own firearms, leaving them defenseless, unable to defend themselves or their loved ones?

Question 9
Various states have passed legislation that would criminalize gun owners who do not keep their firearms under lock and key, giving violent criminals the advantage. The Radical Left has been calling for similar legislation here in Missouri, too. To be clear,  these deadly “Safe Storage” laws do nothing to deter violent criminals and instead get innocent citizens raped or murdered because they can’t unlock their firearms in time! If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that would force Missourians to keep their guns in a government-approved storage device, leaving them unable to defend themselves or their loved ones in an emergency?

Question 10
St. Louis, Kansas City, and other liberal cities in Missouri are experiencing a crime wave that was enabled by their own liberal policies. By refusing to prosecute criminals, making significant portions of downtown ‘Gun Free Zones,’ and by refusing to even arrest juveniles who break the law, these cities are reaping what they have sown. Instead of addressing these issues, liberal politicians in Jeff City want to use the problem their policies enabled to make it a crime for any minor here in Missouri to possess firearms with legislation like HB-1277, HB-70, SB-217 and more. If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that would make it a crime for minors to possess firearms, acknowledging the fact that blaming a gun for the actions of criminals is not a solution and that countless Missouri youths safely handle firearms on a regular basis?

Questions:

Question 1
The right to keep and bear arms does not stem from the government, the United States Supreme Court, or even natural law. It is a God-given right, that is codified in our national and state constitutions. Thus, no matter what the government or courts say, the people of Missouri will always have the right to keep and bear arms. One of the jobs of the Missouri Attorney General is to defend those rights. If elected, do you vow to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to defend the Second Amendment rights of Missourians, acknowledging that the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights and Art. 1, Sec. 23 of the Missouri Constitution is an individual, God-given right and a limitation on government?

Question 2
In 2021, Missouri enacted the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA), asserting the State’s 10th Amendment right to instruct Missouri cops to only enforce Missouri law when it comes to firearms, ammunition, and accessories. Missouri’s SAPA law is the best in America, and that’s why the Biden White House has sued Missouri to block it. Currently we’re waiting for an answer from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals about SAPA. Whether the 8th upholds SAPA or not, it’s likely this fight is headed to the United States Supreme Court. If elected, do you vow to use the power of the office of Missouri Attorney General to fight for SAPA in the United States Supreme Court whether that means defending it from a challenge from the DOJ, or appealing a defeat from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals?

Question 3
A growing number of states, including Republican-led states, have enacted ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws that allow liberal judges to order the seizure of someone’s firearms before they’ve ever been charged, indicted, or convicted of a crime. Often this is done through ex-parte hearings that the gun owner knows nothing about until after the seizure order has been issued. At a minimum, ‘Red Flag’ laws violate the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th Amendment to the Bill of Rights. Do you acknowledge that ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ are unconstitutional, do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to publicly oppose these laws, and will you refuse to enforce such a law should it ever pass here in Missouri?

Question 4
Over the last couple of years, anti-gun legislators in Jefferson City have proposed legislation like HB-2857 which would require Missourians to submit a list of every firearm they own to the Missouri Attorney General or face civil charges. This legislation is clearly designed to give the State of Missouri a list of every gun owner in Missouri. History has made it clear what happens to a nation that allows the government to register gun owners.  Do you acknowledge that throughout history, registering firearms has almost always led to the people being helpless against criminals and tyrants? And do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to publicly oppose these laws and will you refuse to enforce such a law should it every pass here in Missouri?

Question 5
In recent years, the General Assembly has made changes to the timeline that governs when someone can apply to have their gun rights restored. However, Missourians with non-violent felony convictions are still unable to apply to have their gun rights restored. In Missouri, writing a bad check over $500 counts as a felony. In a growing number of states, non-violent felons are able to apply to have their gun rights restored in accordance with state law. Do you acknowledge that while violent felons should never own a firearm again, non-violent felons should have a process where they can have their rights restored?

Question 6
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision from 2022, federal courts have said that it is unconstitutional for the government to ban 18-20 year old adults from possessing firearms. Despite this, many anti-gun legislators are trying to raise the age on when a Missourian can possess a firearm. If passed, these laws would allow a young Missourian to carry a firearm for the military, but not to defend themselves here in Missouri. Do you acknowledge that laws that make it a crime for Missourians between the age of 18-20 to possess firearms are unconstitutional and arbitrary, and do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to publicly oppose these laws here in Missouri?

Question 7
Mo. Rev. Stat. § 21.750 is Missouri’s preemption law, making it clear that the General Assembly is the only political entity that can enact gun laws in the state. Despite that, St. Louis and Kansas City are trying to (or have already enacted) local gun control laws that are a clear violation of Missouri law. Other municipalities may soon follow suit.  Do you acknowledge that only the General Assembly is allowed to decide the gun laws of the State or Missouri, and do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to bring actions against municipalities who arrogantly and willfully violate Mo. Rev. Stat. § 21.750?

Question 8
While the political battle to ban, confiscate and destroy certain types of firearms continues to rage in Congress and state legislatures across America, the new front in this battle is the war against the right of people to buy ammunition. Recently, dozens of Democratic Attorneys General from across America have called on the Biden White House to force Lake City Ammunition (which has a major plant here in Missouri) to stop selling ammunition to Missourians or lose their military contracts. If elected, do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to defend ammunition manufactures here in Missouri, and to bring actions against anyone who tries to block them from selling ammunition to the people of Missouri — even if that includes the federal government?

Question 9
Unable to currently pass gun control in the United States Congress, gun control advocates are turning to bureaucratic and administrative processes to attack gun owners. Whether it’s denying banking services to gun sellers or tracking gun and ammo sales through a person’s credit card use or banking records, these attacks against gun rights never cease. In some cases, these actions may be illegal. If elected, do you promise to use the office of Missouri Attorney General to defend gun owners in Missouri by bringing actions against those entities that use bureaucratic and administrative attacks to track, trace, and register gun owners?

Questions:

Question 1
Do you believe the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights is a limitation on government, is an individual right that is protected by the Constitution of the United States of America, and that it is the duty of the United States Congress to protect that right?

Question 2
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation like S. 494/H.R. 715 that restricts law-abiding citizens from privately selling firearms to other law-abiding citizens without possessing a Federal Firearms License or submitting to a state or federal background check? These checks form a de facto national gun registry, which the ATF recently said contains one billion records.

Question 3
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation like S. 247/H.R. 3018 that establishes ‘Red Flag Gun Confiscation’ in America, knowing that these proposals violate America’s long enshrined due process rights by allowing the courts to order the confiscation of a gun owner’s firearms before they’ve been convicted of a crime in a court of law?

Question 4
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation like S. 1108 (117th Congress) that makes it illegal for law-abiding citizens to own and possess firearms and firearms accessories such as standard 30-round magazines, firearms made from 80% lowers, suppressors and other accessories that are in common use, making firearms safer to use while not increasing violent crime?

Question 5
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation like S. 25/H.R. 698 which makes felons out of law-abiding gun owners for the sale, manufacture, importation, or possession of hundreds of different styles of semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, or handguns, including the AR-15?

Question 6
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on all legislative attempts to disarm lawful citizens through mental health processes that allow judges, doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, or anyone else to arbitrarily declare someone mentally defective, disarming them before they’ve had their day in court?

Question 7
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like H.R. 6248 which establishes a national Stand-Your-Ground law, by removing the ‘duty to retreat,’ clarifying that gun owners are legally able to defend themselves against violent predators, without having to retreat first?

Question 8
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like H.R. 374 which would abolish the scandal-ridden Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after giving them time to inventory and sell the firearms in their possession and divert their cases to the Federal Bureau of Investigation?

Question 9
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation that would repeal the 1994 Gun-Free Schools Act, which has made America’s schools the site of repeated mass shootings, as violent criminals know that they are unlikely to face any armed opposition?

Question 10
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation such as H.R. 450, which would repeal the National Firearms Act, which has been used by many Presidents to bypass Congress and declare firearms accessories illegal by fiat?
