Eric Burlison and Jered Taylor Stand Up for Gun Rights!

As we get closer to the end of the window for candidates to sign their Missouri Firearms Coalition candidate survey, some of you are hearing from incumbents who think that they should get a pass.

‘I voted for gun bills in the past,’ they say, ‘I don’t have to sign your survey.’

Of course that is ridiculous, as pro-gun lawmakers flip their views all the time — just look at Senator Marco ‘ban em if you’re not 21’ Rubio or Governor Mary ‘you need to pay for the right to carry’ Fallin, who both betrayed gun owners this year.

Closer to home, almost every lawmaker in Jeff City claims to be pro-gun but with only a handful of exceptions, they all sat on their hands and did nothing for the last two years!

That’s right, Missouri hasn’t moved a gun bill of any kind in over two years.

So forgive us if we don’t take lawmakers at face value anymore.

But there are two past and present Missouri lawmakers who could legitimately make a claim that their actions put their views on the Second Amendment above reproach.

Representative Jered Taylor and former Representative and now State Senate candidate Eric Burlison should be well known to the members of the Missouri Firearms Coalition.

For the last two years, Rep. Jered Taylor has been the lead bill sponsor for the Missouri Firearms Coalition.

Jered has fought to end deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ and has been a leading voice in stopping Rep. Meredith’s attempt to overturn Missouri’s Stand-Your-Ground bill!

And, of course, it was then-Representative Burlison who we entrusted our Constitutional Carry/Stand-Your-Ground law bill to in 2016.

And let me tell you, Eric took as many arrows in the back for leading that fight as he did in the front.

Despite all the pressure from the media and moderates in his caucus, Eric never backed down and we passed a major expansion of gun rights in 2016.

So you can see why, if any lawmaker may ask for a pass for putting their views on gun rights on paper, it would be these two champions.

But they didn’t ask for a pass.

In fact, I’m pleased to announce to you that both House candidate Jered Taylor and Senate candidate Eric Burlison have completed their gun rights questionnaires 100%!

You can see these survey results on our website, by going here.

The real question then is, if your local candidate is refusing to go on the record, is what is he trying to hide?

After all, if well known gun rights leaders like Burlison and Taylor are willing to go on record, why would any other legislative candidate refuse to do so?

The bottom line is that talk is cheap. And it’s cheaper coming from politicians who are in the midst of an election campaign.

Gun owners have been betrayed by our friends repeatedly, nationwide, over the last 6 months.

That’s why it’s crucial that we get these candidates on the record. That way, if they do stab us in the back down the road, gun owners can hold them accountable!

Eric Burlison understands that.

Jered Taylor understands that.

It’s up to us to make sure that the rest of the candidates looking to represent us in Jeff City get on the record, too.

So please take action right away, by:

>>>  Printing off the MOFC candidate survey and bringing      it to your candidates at forums, insisting that      they get on the record!

>>>  Making an immediate donation to the Missouri      Firearms Coalition, so that we can continue to run      this specific program and highlight bad candidates      next month.

>>>  If you are not yet a member of MOFC, please become      one right away, at whatever membership level that      is appropriate for you, so the MOFC can maintain      the fight for gun rights across the state.

Remember, lawmakers work for us.

For the last two years, they clearly ignored that fact when it comes to the Second Amendment.

So don’t give them the benefit of the doubt or cut them any slack.

They either sign the candidate survey and put their support in writing, or they don’t. Either way, gun owners will have an answer!

For Freedom,

Dr. Curt Frazier

P.S. With some of Missouri’s leading pro-gun champions signing their 2018 Gun Rights Candidate Questionnaire, has your candidate done so?

You can see all the results of our survey program right here.

If he hasn’t, print off a copy of the survey and bring it to him and insist that he stand up for gun owners.

And if you are not a member of the Missouri Firearms Coalition, please get involved TODAY!
