If you’ve watched any of the hearings about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the US Supreme Court, you know that Dianne Feinstein and her allies hate Kavanaugh because of his previous pro-gun decisions.
His dissent in the Washington D.C. gun ban case while on the D.C. Circuit Court was the number one issue that Senator Feinstein attacked Judge Kavanaugh with during that portion of the hearing.
Yesterday, the Judiciary Committee advanced Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination on to the full Senate, setting this up for a full Senate vote sometime in the near future.
With the Senate vote count in Washington D.C. razor tight, all eyes are on vulnerable Senators who are facing tough reelections — to see whether or not they will back President Trump’s nominee or not.
And there is perhaps no Senator in America with a tougher reelection fight going on than Missouri’s Claire McCaskill.
So right now, when she needs every vote, is the perfect time for gun owners to call McCaskill’s office and demand that she vote ‘YES’ on the Kavanaugh nomination when it comes before the Senate. More on that in a moment.
Gun owners know that while the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch did not change the makeup of the court significantly (as it replaced a pro-gun justice with another pro-gun justice,) the stakes are far higher this time.
Retired Supreme Court Justice Kennedy was very moderate on a host of issues. Replacing him with Brett Kavanaugh would be a fantastic step where our Second Amendment rights are concerned.
You and I know that, and so does Claire McCaskill.
