MetroLink Scandal Highlights Need to Repeal “Gun Free Zones!”

If you’ve been watching the news lately, you have heard about the public safety scandal involving the St. Louis MetroLink and the county sheriff’s officers assigned to protect it.

From covering up cameras in the break room to reporting for duty when on the other side of town, it’s obvious that your safety when traveling on the MetroLink isn’t a high priority.

But no one is talking about the public safety elephant in the room –- the ‘Gun Free Zones’ policies that leave law abiding Missourians defenseless while on the MetroLink.

The results are as predictable as they are tragic as shootings, rapes, robberies, and murder are almost normal on the MetroLink.

This happens every time law abiding citizens are disarmed and left at the mercy of vicious thugs who don’t care about innocent life.

Of course, the MetroLink is just one of the DOZENS of places where you and I are forced to disarm in Missouri — whether you carry with a permit or under our Constitutional Carry laws.

And while our bill to repeal these deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ passed through three committees in the House last year, it did not pass into law, meaning we have to start over next session.

That’s why I’m counting on your signed petition, calling on the legislature to remedy this issue when the session reconvenes next January.

More on that in a moment.

You see, it’s a simple fact, when you enact these silly ‘Gun Free Zones,’ the only people who obey these policies are law abiding citizens -– as vicious thugs don’t care.

The impact of these laws plays out on the news seemingly every day as murders seem to target these exact places to carry out their attacks, knowing they are unlikely to meet armed opposition.

Our legislation, HB 630, would simply remove these ‘Gun Free Zones’ from the books in any area where state law is the controlling authority.

Obviously we can’t control or impact federal law, but most of the places that are off-limits to gun owners are mandated by state law.

So please help us get rid of these dangerous areas by signing your petition in support of this legislation right away!

Sometimes it’s easy for folks to think to themselves that what happens on the MetroLink doesn’t affect me, and dismiss the issue of ‘Gun Free Zones’ as being a big-city problem.

But that would be a mistake.

State code puts a blanket ban on carrying in dozens of places including: churches, daycares, hospitals, sporting events, mass transportation systems, schools, and colleges, just to name a few!

And again, this applies whether you carry under our Constitutional Carry provisions or with a permit!

Why is it that law abiding citizens in Missouri are the ones in the legal crosshairs?

Why, in light of all the evidence to the contrary, are we giving the upper hand to robbers, murderers and rapists, as they can attack innocent citizens with impunity?

And why, with a pro-gun majority in Jefferson City, were no gun bills passed last session?

Please help us change that next session by signing your petition right away!

While our bill was defeated last session, next year is an election year making it a little easier to pass a pro-gun bill.

But they have to hear from you!

Your signed petition is a part of that.

But I also hope you’ll consider a donation to the Missouri Firearms Coalition as we work to get tens of thousands of gun owners involved in this fight!

We are using direct mail, Facebook, mass email and more to get the word out –- but we need your help to do it.

So whether you can contribute $100, $50, $25 or even just $10 I hope you’ll act right away!

It was this overwhelming amount of grassroots pressure that brought Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground legislation last year!

Standing together we can take the next step here in Missouri and do away with these ‘Gun Free Zones.’

So please help in any way you can!

And when you’re done, please forward this email to your friends and family and encourage them to sign their petition, too!

For Freedom,

Dr. Curt Frazier

P.S. As the murder rate continues to soar in aggressively anti-gun St. Louis, city officials are scratching their head trying to figure out what to do.

Of course, many places in St. Louis are off-limits to gun owners as part of the dozens of ‘Gun Free Zones’ on the books here in Missouri.

Help us get rid of these deadly ‘Gun Free Zones’ next session by signing your petition in support of this legislation right away!

And it’s critical that we expand the size of our grassroots army to begin the 2018 session with as much grassroots pressure as possible.

So please consider an immediate donation to the Missouri Firearms Coalition of $100, $50, $25 or even just $10!
