Session is coming fast in Jeff City, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over all my years in the Capitol it’s that the most dangerous gun control bills are not always the loud ones.
They’re the bills that don’t look like an AR-15 ban.
And HB-261 is exactly that kind of threat.
With Senate leaders killing gun bills year after year, Democrats are testing a new strategy — pushing “less scary” gun control that they hope weak RINOs will quietly go along with.
HB-261 is their opening move.
This bill targets ammo, not guns. And that’s precisely why they think it can slip through.

Here’s what HB-261 is designed to do:
— Require a state license to sell ammunition in Missouri
— End online ammo purchases by forcing face-to-face sales
— Criminalize bringing ammo into Missouri from another state
— Turn everyday gun owners and small retailers into criminals
This is not about safety. This is about control. It’s all part of the Democrats’ goal of registering and then disarming us.
They know banning rifles outright triggers massive backlash.
So instead, they go after the supply chain.
No ammo — no right to keep and bear arms.
First it’s licensing.
Then it’s tracking.
Then it’s confiscation.
And with the Missouri Senate GOP repeatedly failing to advance pro-gun bills — and too often folding under pressure — Democrats believe this is their moment.
That’s why we are acting now, before this bill gains momentum.

Your signature sends a clear message to Jefferson City:
Gun owners are very organized.
We will work to crush this bill.
Anyone who supports it will be lit up at election time.
One more thing.
If you haven’t yet renewed your membership with the Missouri Firearms Coalition, this is exactly the kind of fight that support makes possible.
We don’t rely on weak politicians to protect our rights. We apply pressure — early and often.
Thank you for standing with us and for helping keep Missouri a strong pro-Second Amendment state.
For Missouri,

Aaron Dorr
Political Director
Missouri Firearms Coalition
P.S. Ammo registration is being proposed in Jeff City in advance of the 2026 legislative session. We need to send a message, now, before session even begins that this won’t be tolerated.
