BOOM! Thanks to YOUR calls and emails, the Senate Transportation and Public Safety Committee passed the Second Amendment Preservation Act (HB-1175) yesterday by a 5-2 vote!
Even better, SAPA sailed through with NO weakening amendments!
Your voice is being heard loud and clear in Jefferson City.
What is SAPA? It’s our shield against federal gun control overreach. HB-1175 ensures Missouri cops enforce only Missouri gun laws, not federal regulations or executive orders.
It blocks the ATF from using our officers in task forces to infringe on your rights and allows lawsuits against agencies that violate SAPA, with penalties starting at $50,000.
We need SAPA to stop future anti-gun administrations from hijacking our police!
We’d like to thank Senators Fitzwater, Schnelting, Brown, Gregory (Kurtis) and Schroer for voting yes on SAPA. The two no votes were from the Democrats on the committee.
We’re almost there!
SAPA has cleared the House Committee, the full House (100-49), and now the Senate Committee. One final hurdle remains: the full Senate vote.
But danger looms—law enforcement lobbyists from St. Louis and Kansas City are pushing harmful amendments to gut SAPA, like removing penalties or creating loopholes for federal enforcement.
We can’t let them win!
