🚨 Breaking: Missouri AG Shakeup: Bailey Out, Hanaway In

Tue, Aug 19, 2025

Late yesterday, news broke that Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey will be stepping down from his office after being tapped by President Trump to serve as Co-Deputy Director of the FBI.

Over the last two years, and especially during Biden’s time in the White House, Bailey became a household name in fighting for the Second Amendment.

Whether it was standing up to defend Missouri’s SAPA law or pushing back on federal overreach, Bailey was relentless in the fight for gun rights here in Missouri.

While we understand why President Trump wants Bailey on his team, it’s certainly Missouri’s loss. And his departure leaves a major hole at a critical time.

Earlier today, Governor Mike Kehoe appointed Catherine Hanaway as Missouri’s new Attorney General.

While she has been off the political scene for some time, Hanaway previously served as Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives and will now step into this pivotal role.

This change comes as multiple Second Amendment cases are currently underway in the Attorney General’s office.

We will have more information soon about what this transition means for those cases — and for Missouri gun owners in the months ahead.

For now, please stay tuned. Missouri’s fight for the Second Amendment never stops, and neither can we.

If you haven’t yet done so, now is the perfect time to become a proud member of the Missouri Firearms Coalition.

P.S. The shakeup at the Attorney General’s office comes at a critical moment, with major Second Amendment cases still pending in Missouri courts.

We’ll keep you updated, but in the meantime, please consider joining/donating to MOFC today so we have the resources needed to keep the pressure on politicians in Jefferson City.
