The Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) ensures that the next Democrat President can’t use Missouri cops to enforce federal gun control laws. While the court struck SAPA 1.0 down, HB-3070 was modified to address the court’s concerns.
The real issue is RINO Republicans in Jeff City.
They don’t want to pass this bill. They want to claim to be pro-gun, while trying to kill this bill to placate law enforcement lobbyists from St. Louis and Kansas City.
If passed into law, HB-3070 would:
- Prevent the feds from using Missouri cops to enforce federal gun control
- Prevent the ATF from using Missouri cops in a gun seizure taskforce
- Allow a gun owner to sue departments who violate SAPA in civil court
- Still allows the feds to help Missouri cops enforce Missouri laws
The question is whether the Republican-controlled General Laws Committee will move the bill forward so SAPA can get to the House floor for a vote.
Send your pre-written email to the House General Laws Committee today, insisting that they advance this bill as is, without amendments that are designed to gut the bill.
